Job Summary
Job Purpose: Supervises phlebotomists, offers suggestions and provides guidance as needed. Performs specimen processing and testing using standard lab practices and quality control.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Adjusts daily work assignments to meet the demands of the department.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of the technical aspects of the laboratory; e.g., proper maintenance of equipment, interpretation of data, etc.
- Keeps work area clean, stocked and well organized.
- Per the scope of license, trainee can only review and perform patient testing. Properly uses and maintains tools and equipment in compliance with department and hospital policies and Job Description Page 1 of 2 standards.
- Supervises phlebotomists, offers suggestions and provides guidance, as needed.
- Verifies and reports laboratory test results per the scope of license.

Education and Qualifications
- Minimum Work Experience: Computer skills required.
- Required Licenses/Certifications: California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License.
