Thermo Fisher Scientific’s CLIA lab in West Sacramento is expanding clinical and pharma services business using next-generation-sequencing technology and other molecular technologies in cancer testing.  It has immediate needs for Licensed Clinical Scientists who are experienced in molecular techniques or who are interested to learn and get trained to perform high complexity next generation sequencing oncology testing for patients and pharma clinical trials

*Job Description

  • Performs routine and complex laboratory analyses involving sample receiving, processing, and result reporting
  • Ensures instruments and equipment in the clinical lab are functioning properly and maintained by performing or arranging scheduled maintenance in a timely manner
  • Participates in proficiency testing
  • Utilizes good documentation practices (GDPs) and follows laboratory quality control and quality assurance policies
  • Supervises laboratory assistants
  • Complies with Life Technologies Clinical Services Lab safety policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned


*Minimum Qualifications (must have)

  • A BS/BA degree in Medical Technology or Biological Sciences from an accredited college or university
  • A current American Society Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Medical Technologist license
  • A current California state Clinical Laboratory Scientist license to perform laboratory testing


*Preferred Qualifications (nice to have)


  • A BS/BA degree in Medical Technology or Biological Sciences from an accredited college or university
  • A current American Society Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Medical Technologist license
  • A current California state Clinical Laboratory Scientist license to perform laboratory testing
