MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST-TRANSFUSION

a Medical Technologist at our world-renowned facility in Houston. For 25 years, The

The UT M. D. Anderson Cancer Center Transfusion Service transfuses over 200,000
blood components (red blood cells, platelets, plasma, granulocytes, etc.) per year, and is
considered the largest hospital-based Transfusion Services in the U.S. serving the needs
of cancer patients. In addition to blood and blood components, the Transfusion Service
acquires, stores and distributes all tissue used for clinical purposes, except for cord blood
and stem cells.
QUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION
Required: Bachelor’s degree in a related science field.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in CLS
EXPERIENCE:
Required: One year of clinical lab experience or Medical Technologist
internship.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
Preferred: Registered Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist by the
American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Board of Certification.
This position is a night shift: 10:30PM to 7:00AM
