We are currently seeking the following for our 18,000 square foot, state-of-the-art clinical laboratory at Community Regional Medical Center:
Clinical Lab Scientist
Responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the laboratory operation and personnel performing testing and reporting test results. Performs all laboratory tests accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner following the laboratory's established policies and procedures. Uses knowledge of quality control, equipment operation, and clinical correlation of patient results to determine validity of testing results. Recognizes critical values and follows appropriate notification procedure.
Position requires Bachelors degree in Chemical, Physical or Biological Science or Medical Technology. State of California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License.
Some of the high-tech highlights in the Lab include:
- The hematology section has a new automated track connecting cell counters and a new automated unit to make peripheral smears on cases requiring manual review.
- The chemistry section has an expanded chemistry automation track with the capacity for dual automated chemistry analyzers and dual automated immunoassay instruments in addition to the sample handling unit.
- The microbiology section has expanded and includes new quarters for the tuberculosis and fungus laboratories that comply with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention isolation requirements.
- The transfusion service has expanded quarters with increased blood storage capacity and space for new automated instrumentation planned for the near future.
