Position Title: Clinical Laboratory Scientist

Summary:
- Performs and interprets moderate and high complexity tests in the following laboratory sections: Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, and Immunoassays.
- Supervises activities of laboratory technicians/assistants.
- Reports results following standard operating procedures for patient specimens, proficiency samples, and quality control.
- Oversees or performs instrument and equipment calibration, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Serves as a technical resource including problem solving, troubleshooting, interpreting/consulting, and verifying specimen quality and test results.
- Must be willing to perform phlebotomy procedures on an as-needed basis.
The ideal candidates must be self-motivated, work well with minimal direction, and take initiative to improve laboratory operations wherever necessary. Provides staff and management with timely information, constructive, and actionable feedback. Fosters cooperation and collaboration. As this is a start-up environment, the candidate must be flexible and willing to perform other duties as needed.
Qualification:
· Candidates must have a valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license, · 2+ years of experience in a high complexity laboratory
· Preference will be given to candidates who are familiar with the operation and maintenance of the LabDaq LIS system and the following clinical lab analyzers: (1) Beckman Coulter AU-480, (2) ABX Pentra XL80, (3) UniCel DxI 600, and (4) Siemens Advia Centaur.
