CLS - Palo Alto


Kelly Scientific (San Mateo Office – 650-638-1099) is hiring a, Entry-Level Clinical Laboratory Scientist for a Molecular Diagnostics company in Palo Alto to be responsible for performing high complexity laboratory testing on patient specimens, interpreting and reporting patient results, performing quality control and quality assurance procedures and complying with all applicable local, state and federal laboratory regulations. The high complexity nature of the work requires excellent attention to detail, effective written and verbal communication skills, the ability to multi-task and be flexible with tasks and schedules and the ability to work independently in a team environment.

Basic Duties
·         Perform laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses according to the laboratory’s standard operating procedures.
·         Perform, review and document laboratory quality control procedures.
·         Operate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment. 
·         Prepare reagents required for laboratory testing.
·         Review, interpret and report patient results.
·         Independently identify and troubleshoot basic problems that adversely affect test performance.
·         Assist with the training of new laboratory personnel.
·         Maintain sufficient inventory of laboratory supplies for daily operations.
·         Communicate effectively with coworkers and non-laboratory personnel.
·         Report all concerns of test quality and/or safety to the Clinical Lab Director.
·         Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
·         Must possess a valid California CLS license.
·         Possess working knowledge of local, state and federal laboratory regulations.
·         Proficiency, competency & understanding of fundamental principles of clinical laboratory procedures w/ minimal amount of supervision.Computer skills a must, automation skills preferred.
·         Strong communicator with ability to maintain open communication with internal employees, managers and customers as needed.
·         Able to integrate and apply feedback in a professional manner.
·         Able to manage daily test processing needs with high emphasis on quality.
·         Ability to work as part of a team.
·         Ability to perform detail oriented tasks.
·         High volume laboratory experience preferred.

CLS - Redwood City


My client is seeking a California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (licensed) who is highly motivated to join their efforts. This position is located in the peninsula, CA.

Description:
We are looking for a Chemistry Department Laboratory Manager to take a lead role in one of our largest technical departments. As a key leader, you are responsible for ensuring optimal operation of the Chemistry department. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Instrument validation, Writing/reviewing/updating SOPs for new and existing assays, assisting QA team in maintaining quality assurance, training and development of staff including performance management and developing work schedules, and other special projects. Your leadership will ensure that our company remains the leading ESRD lab by meeting client service demands in a high volume / production environment, including chemistry testing and result reporting, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting, and quality control reporting & documentation. You will utilize your professional judgment and in-depth knowledge of laboratory techniques, scientific principles, quality control and instrument maintenance and will have the opportunity to recognize problems, identify causes and determine alternative methods and solutions. You will also actively contribute to quality assurance activities and participate in proficiency testing.

Required Experience:
- Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license
- Minimum of six years management experience as a licensed clinical laboratory scientist, preferably in Chemistry, with demonstrated progression of responsibility and skill
- Proven leadership ability, both technically and among staff
- Demonstrates analytical problem-solving skills, proficiency in performing detailed tasks thoroughly and completely, and the ability to follow complicated instructions with accuracy.
- Ability to handle high volume production environment
- Ability to multitask both technical and staffing aspect of role
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage stressful situations
- Knowledge of Chemistry instruments helpful, with demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technology
- Excellent computer skills with very strong comfort level in troubleshooting
- Strong communicator with ability to maintain open communication with employees and managers as needed
- In-depth knowledge of laboratory techniques, scientific principles, and quality control

Technical Sales Specialist (CLS)


This is a great opportunity for a CLS that would like to move their career into a sales role, responsible for working with customers, installations, training, QC’s and validations.  Full and excellent benefits, plus a company car.

Job Description:

  • Completes external validation and statistical analysis of performance of reagents and instrumentation
  • Direct problem solving for customers covering reagents, kits, procedures, adaptations, software upgrades and instruments as appropriate
  • Performs customer in-house and on-site product training/demonstrations as necessary
  • Assists customers and the service department with instrumentation as well as generic product trouble shooting as appropriate
  • Interacts with the Advanced Technical Specialist (ATS) for advanced training and troubleshooting
  • Reviews and updates competitive instrument adaptation protocols for customers using generic reagents
  • Performs pre-site installation inspections as required
  • Supplies appropriate telephone support and documentation regarding all above mentioned issues
  • Performs training and guidance to internal customers
  • Furnishes leads based upon technical calls
  • Gives technical lectures where requested
  • Represents Field Support Group at seminars, conventions, meetings, and wet workshops as necessary
  • Helps in updating and maintaining technical/competitive product files
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the market as well as the competition
  • Work on special projects as assigned by management



Skills:



  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
  • Gathers and analyzes information skillfully
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
  • Strong personal computer skills, including knowledge of MS Word & Excel software
