- Reviews test performance, drive process and provide project management.
- Resolve problems with clients, and other departments. Interface with the pathologists for technical issues and case sign out.
- Identify the future needs of the laboratory with respect to equipment, process and staff. Coordinate R & D activities as they relate to Operations.
- Conduct validations, and technical troubleshooting of assays and processes.
- Facilitate the transfer of current assays from R & D to Operations, and the introduction of new Molecular assays to the Los Angeles location.
- Perform assays and make decisions that require the comparison and evaluation of possible courses of conduct and the consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion.
- Provide oversight of multiple areas of the Molecular Lab Operations.
- Responsible for the scheduling and supervision of non-exempt lab personnel, including planning, assigning, and directing work in the laboratory.
- Mentor and support direct reports through training; define, coordinate and monitor quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee appropriate staffing levels in the laboratory through effective interviewing, hiring, and training; provide direction through performance development.
- Develop an annual budget and manage department costs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well individually and in a team environment are required. Ability to interact with other areas of clinical operations such as Pathology, Quality Control and Development departments are also required.
Basic Requirements :
- A Bachelor's degree in Science, Molecular Biology, Biology, Medical Technology or other related area is required.
- CLS license (preferably in Molecular Biology) is required.
- 8 plus years of Clinical experience is a must.
- 3-5 years of management experience, and a record of achievement working in a clinical laboratory is required. Qualifications
