CLS - San Diego



I would like to introduce myself.  I am a technical recruiter in San Diego focusing on technical laboratory positions. I specialize in placing CLS candidates at ALL LEVELS.  Positions pay 60K-120K+.  Shifts are typically 1st or 2nd.  Days include: Monday-Friday, Tuesday-Saturday and Sunday-Thursday.

CLS I, II, III, Sr CLS (DIRECT HIRE ROLE – PAY IS HOURLY) – 6 positions open
Requirements:
·         CA CLS license required
·         Specialist in Molecular (CGMBS) license highly preferred – NOT required!
·         B.S. in scientific discipline required
·         1-10+ year’s direct experience in a laboratory setting
·         Previous molecular diagnostics experience including DNA isolation, PCR, RT-PCR, Real-Time PCR, capillary electrophoresis and DNA sequencing highly desired
·         Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills and experience with a laboratory information system
·         Experience with accreditation inspections and writing and editing laboratory Standard Operated Procedures (SOP) highly desirable


CLS I, II and III (DIRECT HIRE) -5 positions
CLS Generalist to do urine testing utilizing chromatography (LCMS, LCMSMS).
They will offer a competitive salary. Days are Tues-Saturday.

CLS or CGMBS - Redwood City


My client is seeking a California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (licensed) who is highly motivated to join
our efforts in processing maternal blood and performing genetic analysis. This position is located in the
peninsula.

Responsibilities include:

  • Testing and reporting clinical laboratory results used to aide physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients
  • Selection, implementation, and evaluation of results for Quality Control materials used in statistical process control of laboratory assays
  • Troubleshooting assays and equipment for which QC materials fail to perform adequately
  • Participation in activities required to support all necessary licensure for the clinical laboratory, including quality management functions and on-site inspections of the laboratory
  • Maintaining updated understanding and knowledge of the methods employed in the laboratory and the use of the resulting information by physicians through continuing education activities


Requirements:

  • B.S. in medical technology, or biological sciences with a curriculum meeting national testing personnel
  • standards
  • California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license or Clinical Molecular Genetic Scientist in categories appropriate for the area of testing performed
  • 1 to 4 years experience in a clinical laboratory setting ideally in molecular pathology and/or nucleic acid analysis or molecular genetic
  • Excellent communication, teamwork player, organizational and time management skills are essential

Overview:
The Per Diem - Clinical Laboratory Scientist I - AM Shift is responsible for performing high complexity laboratory testing on patient specimens, interpreting and reporting patient results, performing quality control and quality assurance procedures and complying with all applicable local, state and federal laboratory requirements. The high complexity nature of the work requires excellent attention to detail, effective written and verbal communication skills, the ability to multi-task and be flexible with tasks and schedules and the ability to work independently in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
Perform laboratory tests, procedures and analyses according to the laboratory’s standard operating procedures.
• Perform, review and document laboratory quality control procedures.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
• Prepare reagents required for laboratory testing.
• Review, interpret and report patient results.
• Independently identify and troubleshoot basic problems that adversely affect test performance.
• Supervise unlicensed laboratory personnel.
• May assist with the training of new laboratory personnel.
• Maintain sufficient inventory of laboratory supplies for daily operations.
• Must communicate effectively with coworkers and non-laboratory personnel
• Report all concerns of test quality and/or safety to the Supervisor or Safety Officer
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Must possess a valid California CLS license.
• Completion of a CLS training program at an accredited institution or clinical laboratory work experience within the last five years.
• Possess working knowledge of local, state and federal laboratory regulations.
• Computer skills a must, automation skills preferred.
• Ability to analyze and problem solve basic issues that impact test performance.
• Strong communicator with ability to maintain open communication with internal employees, managers and customers as needed.
• Able to integrate and apply feedback in a professional manner.
• Able to manage daily test processing needs with high emphasis on quality.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
• High volume laboratory experience preferred.
• Training in molecular biology techniques preferred.
