Summary : We have an opportunity for a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) on our dynamic team. This individual would be responsible for performing pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical procedures. In this position, the Clinical Laboratory Scientist would be working directly under the laboratory director.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain equipment and instruments in good operating condition, recognize any malfunctions and troubleshoot as needed.
• Verify the proper specimen being analyzed for patients and perform correct tests that need to be completed.
• Analyze clinical laboratory specimens following the standard methods and procedures
• Performs quality control procedures to ensure accuracy of clinical data
• Complete routine preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on instruments and equipment
• Responsible for maintaining updated understanding and knowledge of the methods employed in the laboratory
• May work with Development on new projects.
• Working with the manager will monitor and ensure implementation of goals to meet established quality assurance, quality control, and quality improvement plans.
• Ensures compliance with all regulatory agency requirements through documentation, audits, and corrective action.
• Perform Quality Control tests on new incoming shipments of raw materials
• Participates in the updating of departmental standard operating procedures and database to accurately reflect the current practices.
• Performs other tasks as specified by the manage/director. Education/Experience
Requirements:
• Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license.
• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a CLS or equivalent in a clinical laboratory environment.
• BS/BA degree in Medical Technology or related field
• Must have proven interpersonal, communication, computer, and technical skills.
• Molecular diagnostic experience a must.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
• Word processing, statistical/data management skills required.

Laboratory Supervisor, Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)

Summary: We have an opportunity for a Laboratory Supervisor CLS on our dynamic team. Under direction of the manager/director plans, organizes, schedules, and directs work in order to effectively maximize employee, equipment, and material utilization within budgetary constraints while adhering to quality technical standards. This individual will provide direct on-site supervision of specimen workflow, test performance, quality, compliance, and associated documentation to adhere to the department and company policies and procedures. Responsibility will also include technical support to laboratories running our in vitro diagnostic (IVD) test both by phone and in person.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the laboratory. In conjunction with the Laboratory Manager, ensures all departmental policies and procedures meet the standards of current state, federal and CLIA regulations.
• Maintains adequate staffing by interviewing, hiring, training, and assessment of personnel.
• Performs the scheduling, planning, staffing, and monitoring of workflow to meet established goals.
• Supports, implements, and ensures compliance with all department and company policies and procedures.
• Provides staff development through performance development and review and corrective counseling.
• Procures appropriate supplies and equipment to maximize department efficiency and meet established budgetary and quality goals.
• Provides technical oversight of area(s) of responsibility and serves as a technical resource for problem solving and process improvement to ensure accurate test performance.
• Devotes time to direct specimen testing/troubleshooting as needed to maintain adequate workflow.
• Uses effective two-way communication in leading/participating in general laboratory meetings.

Requirements:
• Current State of California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience as a medical technologist or equivalent in a clinical laboratory environment to include a supervisory function.
• BS/BA degree in Medical Technology or related field
• Must have proven leadership, interpersonal, communication, computer, and technical skills.
• Molecular diagnostic experience a must.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
• Word processing, statistical/data management skills required.
